ES-1 Tested

Metal-Era is now stamping all ANSI/SPRI ES-1 tested

fascia and coping systems with the words “ES-1 Tested.” Metal-Era’s wide range of perimeter edge metal systems are engineered to meet the strict performance standards required by the ANSI/SPRI ES-1 Wind Design Standard for Edge Systems Used with Low-Slope Roofing Systems.
The International Building Code (IBC), which has been adopted nationwide, requires ANSI/SPRI ES-1 compliance. Embossing tested systems with this information provides architects, roof consultants, roofing contractors, owners and code officials with an easy method of identifying roof edge systems that are IBC compliant.
“Stamping our metal fascia and coping systems is a simple way that we can help encourage code compliance and provide assurance to our customers that Metal-Era’s perimeter metal edges meet the strictest of performance standards,” says
Tony Mallinger, Chief Operations Officer. “It is important that design professionals ask their roof edge manufacturer to provide the necessary testing documentation to ensure the product’s long-term performance.”
The specific design pressures that each product has been tested to are listed on website. To learn what design pressure your specific building requires, use Metal-Era’s
online Wind Design Calculator.
The embossing of “ES-1 Tested” on all relevant products is effective immediately.
